Roz's Mission

I walked into my first Pilates session in 2000 to rehab a labral tear in my hip. I expected it to manage the pain. What I didn't expect was everything else: the way it changed the shape of my body, the way I moved, the way I performed. That injury turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to my career.

Movement was already my life. I trained in classical ballet and contemporary dance, hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from Queensland University of Technology (Australia), and danced professionally. I've been teaching since 2004. But it was a stint in media advertising that showed me what Pilates and yoga actually do for a body under pressure. The strength, yes. The mobility, absolutely. But also the calm, the clarity, the ability to walk out of a session feeling more like yourself. I went back to teaching full time and never looked back.

Since then I've taken this work to some of the most demanding bodies in the country. I'm the mobility and Pilates coach for the Penrith Panthers, a professional Australian rugby league team (NRL), since 2019. I've also worked with the New South Wales State of Origin Blues, Parramatta Eels, Canterbury Bulldogs and Newcastle Knights across professional rugby league, the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL), plus junior national swimmers and the New South Wales junior women's artistic gymnastics (since 2006).

Elite athletes don't come to me for a nice stretch. They come because intelligent movement builds resilient, powerful, injury-resistant bodies, and because what works for a professional footballer works just as well for a woman who wants to feel strong at 45, 55 and beyond.

In 2017 I opened my own studio in Sydney and spent close to a decade with women and men, who valued their bodies enough to train them properly. Some arrived rebuilding after babies, injuries or burnout. Others simply wanted to be strong, mobile and unshakeable for the long run. Watching what happens when you give someone precision instead of punishment. That studio taught me everything about how to actually change a body, and it's why SOHL exists online now. The same method, the same standard, no longer limited by four walls or one postcode.

That's the whole philosophy. You don't have to break your body to change it. Low impact, high impact results. My classes are alignment focused, dynamic and genuinely strong, with breath running through every single one, because that's where the shift happens. I want you to move through your life feeling capable and unshakeable. My mission is to give you access to the same intelligent, precise movement I give elite athletes and in studio clients, and to help guide every person who steps onto the mat toward the strongest, most connected version of themselves.
